***Please see the tab Kingstown Crossings for this Friday 6/27 morning's showcase of Seussical Jr. We will be entertaining a pretty big complex of young people this day and will wear our t-shirts and perform much of the same songs we did this past Sunday. Welcome parents and actors! You have stumbled upon the site of the North Kingstown Creative Dramatics Program, otherwise known as NK DRAMA where you will find any and all information regarding the program as well as current and past shows.

Started in 2003 with the classic production of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” the program quickly gained momentum and became a much anticipated after school activity. The following year garnished new talent, which allowed the production of “Annie Jr.” to become a huge success and brought many faces into the audience. With a new year came a new show, and a larger number of extremely talented kids. “The Sound of Music” became our biggest and most challenging show to date, but that didn’t stop us. 2007's performance of "Cinderella" proved that with time comes greatness. :) Following "Cinderella" was the much anticipated production of "The Wizard of Oz" in 2008. The show was another success.

"Beauty and the Beast Jr." was simply the best show yet as it incorporated many wonderful kids into fabulous costumes and voices, and who can resist little kids dressed as silverware? So adorable. The next performance was "Alice in Wonderland Jr.", which was a fun and entertaining show filled with crazy characters and interesting plot lines.

With "Camp Rock: The Musical" behind us, another success to add to NK Drama's repertoire we start the task of putting on a ninth production, this year with "Aladdin, Jr." I do hope you join us as these kids work hard to put on a great show in July!

"Aladdin Jr" turned out to be one of the best performances to date...with the kids rallying together to put on two incredible performances. It was a bittersweet year as yet again we had to say goodbye to the 8th graders, most of whom have been with the program for most of their young lives.

"The Little Mermaid Jr." provided the challenge of creating the illusion that our actors were under water as their characters were fish, mermaids, an octopus and two eels. We jumped that hurdle and the audience was in awe with two more incredible performances, some even saying this was the best show to date!

This coming year we hope to astound you yet again with the favorite characters created by Dr. Seuss in the production of "Seussical Jr."

Lindsay Dias graduated from Salve Regina University with a minor in Theatre Arts. She had worked with her mother in the past, assisting her with the production of “James and the Giant Peach” at Our Lady of Mercy elementary school in East Greenwich. From that moment she knew she wanted to work with kids so when Mari told her about the opportunity ahead Lindsay jumped at the chance. She started off as assistant-director / choreographer with “Charlie” and from there climbed the ladder to directing her first production of “The Sound of Music.” The past few years she wrote and directed her very own projects, "Conversations", "The Bewitching Hour," and "Evilution" which couldn't have gone any better!

Mari Nardolillo-Dias, EDD has directed many children in the past. She worked with St. Mary's School in Cranston as well as the various schools in North Kingstown, so when she was asked by the North Kingstown Recreation Department to head a theatre program for local children she jumped at the opportunity. Being in plays herself, she knew exactly what to do with the kids and she has been a major influence in their lives. With her busy schedule she had decided to step down as Director and leave the program to her daughter Lindsay. She is staying on as producer to help with the business end of the program
